START ME UP: Wine tastings aren't exactly unique but we must say we haven't found one dedicated to the genius that is the Rolling Stones, but that's exactly what they're up to at Landmark Bar & Grill tonight. Stones tunes provide the soundtrack as you partake in this free tasting that includes light apps. Purchase a bottle for 50 percent off between 7-8 p.m. and receive a complimentary pizza. Apparently you can always get what you want. 6:30 - 8:00 pm, Landmark Grill and Lounge, 1633 N. Halsted St., FREE

LIVE BY THE FUNK: The Shrine kicks off a twice-monthly set dedicatd to the funk popularized in the 80s in Rio de Janeiro favelas. Live Batucada (drummers) and samba dancers will help set things off right. 9 p.m., 2109 S Wabash, RSVP here
