Where's Waldo? In Chicago!

Real-life hunt for popular book character

Your eyes dart left, right, up, down. Even though you can't see him, you can feel his eyes staring at you.

There he is! Right there! No ... wait ... that's a lighthouse.

A taunting smile crosses his lips.

There he is! No... wait... that's a barbershop pole.

Darn it, where is he?

Where's Waldo?!

For more than 20 years, people all over the world have been searching for the spectacled and striped Waldo in books, magazines, video games, cereal boxes and online.

This Saturday, you can search for him right here in Chicago --- live.

Waldo and all his friends (Wanda, Wizard Whitebeard, Woof and evil Odlaw) will be in town this weekend, and it's up to you to find them!

"Where's Waldo in the Windy City" will be a real-life hunt for Waldo and his friends in the flesh. From 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 12, you can search for Waldo as well as a bunch of scrolls throughout the city streets. The area, approximately 20 square blocks, is bordered by Wacker, Wabash, Congress, and Lake Michigan (map).

Be sure to RSVP on Facebook, and Good Luck!

Matt Bartosik, a "between blogs" blogger, will be wearing his bobble hat and carrying a walking stick.
