HEY DJ: The funkiest, grooviest dance floor will be at Sound-Bar tonight with a couple of internationally-renowned DJs in the house. Basement Jaxx and Mark Farina will be in the house to help celebrate Green Velvet's birthday, which also launches his quarterly residency. Rest up -- this party rocks until 4 a.m. 10 p.m., 226 W. Ontario

ONE LOVE: If the weather outside isn't quite where you want it to be yet, channel your inner-island vibe by checking out Butterfly Social Club's reggae party, held every second and fourth Friday of the month. DJ Papa G, who used to hold things down on Sundays at Sonotheque (RIP), spins reggae, reggaeton and dancehall classics. $3 Ska beers, $100 bottles of Stoli and $5 pear ciders. Big 'tings a g'wan. 10 p.m., 722 W. Grand Ave

I CéU You: Brazilian singer CéU created a lot of buzz in the industry following her 2005 debut, and her 2009 release has also been well-received for it's novel mix of samba, reggae, jazz and soul. It also doesn't that she's easy on the eyes. Check her out tonight at the Green Dolphin. 7 p.m., 2200 N. Ashland, $20
