Tonight: Dumb-ocracy at Work

Plus: Nerd meetup and amateur singers

POLITICAL PARODY: As if the real political climate weren't surreal enough, a satirical look at the process hits the Mayne Stage tonight. The Daily Show co-creator Lizz Winstead is touring the country with her show, Dumb-ocracy at Work!, which mocks many of the issues of the day and the political players involved. No one is exempt from her sarcastic jabs. After the show, they'll watch the election results come in on the big screen, Mystery Science Theatre-style. 6:30 p.m., 1328 W Morse Ave, Tickets $25

NERDS! It was bound to happen eventually. Several of the nerd groups in the city join forces tonight for one big nerd-fest at Lakeview's Mystic Celt, taking over the back room to play board games or Magic and networking with like-minded souls. Bring your own games or just join in on an active game. Specials include $5 Celt Burger and Fries. 7:30 p.m., 3443 N. Southport, NO COVER

CHICAGO IDOLS: Open auditions begin tonight for Road to Fame, Mahoney's Bar and Grill's annual search for the top local amateur singer. Singers are encouraged to visit the bar on any Tuesday over the next four weeks to do their a-capella best in front of the crowd and judges, which fortunately, does not include Simon Cowell. 8 p.m., 551 N. Ogden Ave., NO COVER
