The Best $5 Hamburger in Town?

Primehouse Offers Special Deal on New Burger

In a city of great steak restaurants, David Burke's Primehouse stands out, but now the eatery is also entering the competitive field of hamburgers.

This week only, Primehouse, located inside the James Hotel at 616 North Rush, is celebrating the launch of its 40 Day Dry-Aged Hamburger with a special introductory price of only $5. The regular price for the burger will be $15.

Two special sides are also being offered for $5 each as part of what Primehouse is calling Burger Week -- Truffle Asiago Fries and a new Vanilla Bourbon Shake made with vanilla ice cream and Kentucky bourbon. The burgers are grilled to request and served on a potato bun and topped with smoked bacon mayonnaise, garlicky spinach and crispy fried onions.

Burke's steaks are aged on-site in a Himalayan salt-tiled dry aging room, and the meat for the burgers are aged alongside.

According to the press release, this burger actually tastes like a steak, but you'll have to judge for yourself. Call (312)660-6000 for reservations.
