To get music lovers psyched for next weekend's Lollapalooza festival, nightlife heavyweight Lumen will help usher in the future of the music industry. On Thursday, Aug. 6, the Fulton Market hipster hangout will host "Keys n Krates", a Canadian sensation that fuses live instrumentation, turntablism and live sampling into something completely unique (and party ready).

The appearance -- dubbed "Reinvent the Remix" -- will mark the Chicago debut of Keys n Krates, an on-the-rise artist that made a splash at this year's South by Southwest Music Festival and was recently named to Urb Magazine's "2009 Next 100" issue. The musical trio is made up of world champion turntablist DJ Jr Flo, keyboardist Matisse Francois and Adam Tune on drums. The group remasters recognizable (think: Kanye, Snoop, Jay-Z), high-energy beats right before your eyes, making a Keys n Krates show a must-see musical attraction.

Joining Keys n Krates for this special concert are DJ sets by Chicago-based artists RTC and Izzo. Doors will open at 10PM and cover is $10.
