Sweet Sounds of Sweden

Native Swedes relocate to Chicago to join music scene

When you think Swedish do you think Andersonville? Watches? Blondes?

How about Lykke Li? Or Love in October?

The Chicagoist reports today that Swedish singer Lykke Li sells out every Chicago show she books -- like an appearance last month at the Metro -- and that she and her band are rumored to be returning to Lollapalooza this August.

She's been described on the blog walrusmusic as "Sweden's newest chanteuse ... simply cool, calm and collected."

So, the The Chicagoist wonders if "Swedish pop is quickly becoming the new Brit pop."
