Richard Pryor Stage Play Headed to Chicago

TV, movie star Isaiah Washington headlines cast

The turbulent life of a comedy icon is coming to a Chicago stage.

"Unspeakable," a dramatic play inspired by the life of the late Richard Pryor, will begin an eight-week engagement at the Royal George Theatre Main Stage on October 2.

The cast of seven features TV and film star Isaiah Washington, who plays "Moody," and James Murray Jackson, Jr. who takes on the role of Pryor.

The play mainly covers the period of 1967 through 1982, and includes Pryor's rise to fame on the comedy circuit and his difficulties with cocaine and women.

Pryor was born in Peoria, IL.
