The Non-Chicago Scene Boat Party

Moshpix: Many boaters were disappointed to hear that July 30th's annual Chicago Scene Boat Party was canceled due to issues with city permits. The initial plan was to try and break a Guinness record for the largest tie up of 1,650 boats. But even though there was no "official" party, that didn't stop dozens of boats from hitting the "Playpen" off Chicago Avenue Beach and having a great time anyway, complete with aerial "performers" and more than a few bottles of champagne. We caught the action from a boat called the "Flying Lady." Pictures courtesy Francis Son Photography.
