Old Town School of Folk Music Unveils New Building

$17 million facility expands class sizes and programming

The Old Town School of Folk Music is singing a new tune.

An official ribbon-cutting was held for the new $17 million facility Monday morning at 4545 N. Lincoln Avenue.

The new building features three new dance studios, 16 new acoustically-engineered classrooms and a 150-seat convertible performance space.

With 27,000 more square-feet, the building is designed to accommodate the needs of growing classes as well as the community's demand for expanded programming.

The school has been open since 1957, and offers music, dance, theater, and visual arts courses to people of all ages.
