North Coast Music Festival: Summer's Last Stand

Labor Day weekend brings electronica artists, rappers to Union Park

Chicago's Labor Day weekend promises to be one for the record books with an inaugural music festival featuring a host of musicians in the electronica field and beyond.

The North Coast Music Festival runs Sept. 3-5 in Union Park (1501 W Randolph St.).

Dozens of local and national artists will be featured on three stages, including The Chemical Brothers, classic hip-hoppers De La Soul, Moby, Lupe Fiasco and The Disco Biscuits.

Three-day tickets are already sold out, but $40 single day tickets are still available up until Monday, with additional tickets available every day leading up to the festival at a higher price. Single-day tickets may also be available at the gate for $50.

The festival is also billing itself as kid-friendly, with all youngsters under the age of 12 admitted free.

A number of after-parties are also scheduled throughout the weekend, with preference given to festival-goers. (view list here)
