Yes, the balmy summer evenings hanging out on the lovely rooftop patio are behind us for now, but you can still get a glow at ZED451. The River North restaurant's roomy lounge -- complete with a roaring fireplace -- makes for a warm, welcoming spot to spend a wintry night.
A new a la carte lounge menu offers satisfying light bites, such as beef short rib sliders (served with creamy horseradish sauce, bread & butter pickles and crispy fried onions on a brioche bun), fondue with flame-roasted meats and marinated vegetables, and a butcher board with an assortment of cured meats, country pate and duck confit. The lounge menu is served Monday through Saturday from 4:30PM to 1AM, and Sunday from 4:30PM to 11:30PM.
As for ZED451's hand-crafted cocktails, a few new soul-warming seasonal concoctions have been added to the list. Try the spiced cranberry old-fashioned (featuring spiced hazelnut-infused Woodford Reserve small-batch bourbon blended with oranges and cranberries), the brown sugared pear cider (with bosc pear-infused Reyka vodka and mulled pear cider served warm with housemade cinnamon whipped cream) and the seasonal blood red orange mojito.
It might not be spring yet, but it sure is getting warmer.
