Michael Jackson's mother and three children, Prince Michael Jackson, Paris Jackson and Blanket Jackson, will attend a celebration event this weekend in Gary, Ind.
Michael Jackson's family is preparing for a four-day thriller in his hometown in celebration of the King of Pop's birthday.
Jackson would have turned 54 today, and Gary, Ind., plans to hold a candlelight tribute starting at 9 p.m. outside his boyhood home, at 2300 Jackson Street, to kick off festivities titled “Goin’ Back to Indiana: Can You Feel It” from Wednesday to Saturday.
His children, Prince, Paris and Blanket, are expected to attend Thursday's Gary South Shore RailCats baseball game, where Jackson will be recognized with a performance by The Gratitude Project. The kids also will throw out the first pitch and get honorary team uniforms.
A dinner hosted Friday by Gary Mayor Karen Freeman-Wilson will honor Jackson's mother, Katherine, and on Saturday fans can attend a tribute concert Saturday at the West Side Theatre Guild.
Tickets cost $25 for the 4 p.m. matinee and $35 for the 7:30 p.m. performance, both of which will include a post-show cast meet-and-greet. The event also will be streamed live.
