Local “Loser” Won't Watch Episodes

Bartlett man competes on weight loss reality show

When a sizeable TV audience tunes in to watch Tuesday night's episode of "The Biggest Loser," you can guarantee Bartlett's Michael Ventrella won't be among them.

The DJ, who has shed 163 pounds off his 526-pound up to this point in the show, tells the Chicago Sun-Times' Paige Wiser that he "doesn't have the time."

"I feel awkward sitting down for that long of a period of time. I have to get on the elliptical or something," Ventrella explained.

He also told the newspaper that he's afraid that someone will say something bad about him on the show, which was actually taped 13 weeks ago.

Ventrella began the couples version of the reality series with his mother Maria, but she was voted off three weeks ago.

Ventrella still has problems with food cravings at home, with Gino's East and River Grove's Gene & Jude's hot dog stand providing his biggest temptations.

"The Biggest Loser" airs 7 p.m. Tuesday on NBC.
