The bright lights of Chicago are about to get a lot brighter.
Beginning Feb. 10 and lasting through Feb. 20., a new exhibit called Luminous Field will be constructed at Millennium Park's Cloudgate sculpture, also referred to as The Bean.
A digital canvas of lights will be added to the iconic sculpture and around AT&T Plaza. The interactive outdoor exhibit will illuminate the area with dramatic images and colors accompanied by music composed by Third Coast Percussion's Owen Clayton Condon.
The group will perform on Feb. 12 to kick off the Sunday night concert series, followed by a performance by Pillars and Tongues on Feb. 19th.
A different headliner will be featured each night, including local theater company Collaboraction on Feb. 10 and 17, who will showcase their choreographed movements synchronized with Luminous Field's video and sound.
Free family programs, concerts and dance performances are located in a heated tent next to the exhibit.
And best of all, the family-friendly event is free. Sunglasses are optional.
