Lee DeWyze Returning Home For “Idol” Tour Gig

Singer's solo album scheduled for Nov. 16

The latest "American Idol" champion will make a triumphant return home this weekend.

Mount Prospect's Lee DeWyze will headline the headline the "American Idol Live" tour at the United Center along with the rest of the Top 10 from the most recent season of the reality show.

DeWyze told the Chicago Sun-Times that it will be weird to headline a concert in the same city and arena where he auditioned for the show just over a year ago.

"Last time I was there, I was just a face in the crowd. Now here I am, after winning the whole thing and playing in front of my hometown crowd. I've been looking forward to that since the minute the show was over," DeWyze told the newspaper.

The tour hasn't exactly been on fire this summer with several scheduled dates canceled because of slow ticket sales. Former Chicago street musician Crystal Bowersox is also on the tour.

DeWyze's solo album is scheduled to be released on Nov. 16.
