Kanye, Common and Lupe Rock Three CPS Schools
Moshpix: Students at three Chicago Public Schools received the thrill of a lifetime this week when three Chicago rap superstars -- Kanye West, Common and Lupe Fiasco -- performed. Marshall, Farragut and Julian were the winners in the annual "Stay in School" event, sponsored by the Kanye West Foundation. Instead of busing the kids to another location as in year's past, the concerts were held at the schools in response to the increasing violence throughout the city. "We wanted to walk the same halls as the students, to show that we care about them and what they are going through," Foundation CEO Joseph Collins said.
