    POETRY SLAM: Check out the semi-finals of the Louder Than a Bomb poetry slam competition. The competition is sponsored by the Young Chicago Authors and winners will move on to the finals at the Vic next week. 11 a.m. - 4 p.m. Steppenwolf Theatre Co., 1650 N Halsted $5

    TOASTING HARRY: Nobody will fault you for needing a stiff drink if you're hanging out at Navy Pier for the day. There'll be one more option on the plate today when Harry Caray's officially opens its new location. The first round of events goes down between 5 a.m. to 10 a.m., including a Spring Training rally, a mascot toast and appearances by every from Dutchie Caray to Ronnie Woo Woo and that guy from "Desperate Housewives" who always seems to be losing his shirt. At 7:40 p.m. it's the 12th Annual Worldwide Toast to Harry Caray on what would have been his 96th birthday with celeb toasters such as Ernie Banks, Bobby Hull and Ron Kittle.
