Happy 75th, Lottie's Pub

Landmark Bucktown pub celebrates a milestone anniversary tomorrow night

The notorious Lottie's Pub, known for its scandalous past as an alleged speakeasy, gambling hall and possible prostitution den that was run by Lottie Zagorski, a six-foot-tall supposed hermaphrodite, is having a birthday!  After 75 years on the corner of Cortland Street and Winchester Avenue, this historical bar is throwing a party for itself.  The festivities including live music begin at 1:30 p.m. this Saturday, May 16.  Guests can throw back 75 cent Miller Lite drafts all day, while digging into a complimentary buffet of eats. Save some energy for the evening hours, when live band karaoke starts at 9 p.m.  Be on the lookout for freebies and giveaways throughout the festivities, and keep your eyes and ears peeled for any apparitions that may be lurking around the premises – you never know what kinds of outrageous happenings may have occurred in the past 75 years to warrant haunting.  They did find bones in the basement a few years back… But don't worry – the basement's been renovated since then. And after a few 75-cent beers, you'll forget all about it.
