Hang With the Cool Kids

The James will team up with Kidzapalooza for an unplugged kids' concert

If you already thought that the crowd at Lollapalooza was too young, get ready to have your mind blown. Kidzapalooza, the family-friendly stage at Lollapalooza (and actually one of the most interesting now that we think back to Perry Farrell crooning "Knockin' On Heaven's Door" to the kiddies last year) and The James Chicago have teamed up to present an unplugged kids' concert at the River North hotel from 8:30-11AM on Sunday, Aug. 9.

The Kidzapalooza V.I.R. (Very Important Rocker) event, which is also sponsored by The Happiness Club of Chicago, a group of local kids who sing and dance on their own show promoting positive values, will let little rockers get up close and personal with children's musical artists. On the roster are Disney recording artist Ralph's World, Paste magazine's "Artist of the Year" Joshua James, Happiness Records artist Secret Agent 23 Skidoo and the performers of The Happiness Club. Each artist will play an unplugged set, sign autographs and take pictures with the fans.

The James will serve a complimentary continental breakfast to all V.I.R.s to fuel up for the event (along with the final day of Lollapalooza). The A-list bash will take place in The James' second-floor Great Room and is free to attend. All you have to do is RSVP to kidza@dkcnews.com, then get your best rock star look ready. The groupie talk can wait 'til later.
