“Fifty Shades” Parody Headed to Chicago Stage

SPANK! musical debuts November 28 at Royal George Theatre Main Stage

It was only a matter of time before the popular and risqué Fifty Shades of Grey novel received the satirical treatment.

A new musical entitled "SPANK! The Fifty Shades Parody" will be presented at the Royal George Theatre Main Stage for a three-week engagement starting November 28.

The musical's producer describes the show as a cross between Saturday Night Live and Chippendale's, with the novel's characters "brought to life with sexy and fun musical numbers."

Writer/director Jim Millan also created stage productions such as The Kids in the Hall, Larry King Standing Up and Marijuanalogues with Tommy Chong.

The musical will be performed on Wednesday through Sunday each week with tickets starting at $38 available starting October 26.

The production premiered in Springfield, MA earlier this month.
