Winter in Chicago usually means forgoing any personal style whatsoever, replacing cute clothes with abominable snowman-type garb to protect against dipping temperatures and bone-chilling winds.

But less-than-inviting temperatures no longer have to mean sacrificing style.

On November 17, Lindsay Kroll and Paige Smith,  owners of contemporary Napa Valley boutique Cake Plate, are bringing their style tricks to town. They’ll be showing you how to master the style challenge of looking “California cool," even when its below zero outside.

The pink carpet event goes down at Sugar Bliss Cake Boutique, with treats from the bakery, an exclusive designer trunk show with designers like Milly, Lauren Moffatt, Trina Turk, Velvet, Lulu Frost jewelry, Tucker, Rachel Antanoff and Orla Kiely, special shopping discounts and personal style consultations by the boutique owners themselves.

We're all about getting a sugar and fashion fix in one night, so go ahead and bring on those chilly temps!
