Social media junkie Billy Dec is harnessing the power of his many followers for a good cause and a good time.
The nightclub and restaurant owner is celebrating the 2-year anniversary of his blog with a Thursday party at Rockit Bar & Grill's River North location to help benefit The Greater Chicago Food Depository.
All donations will benefit the organization, which is dedicated to feeding the hungry.
"178,000 Chicagoans are in need of food assistance right now, and after the holidays, giving is down, so right around this time every year I like to do a bit of a fundraiser, but I try to make it fun," Dec says.
The party, which goes from 7-9 p.m., will feature bands, cocktails and food from Rockit and Sunda.
Tickets are $20 in advance and $40 at the door.
