You might feel a little better about dropping a couple hundred bucks on an entry fee for a poker tournament if you knew the money was going toward a good cause.

If that's all the justification you need, put your best hand forward at Children's Oncology Services, Inc. (COSI) Charity Poker Championship January 22 at the River East Art Center.

The event, sponsored by Horseshoe Casino, will also allow the players to compete for a seat at the 2009 World Series of Poker in Las Vegas. Second prize is a seat at the 2009 Horseshoe Casino's World Series of Poker Circuit Event.

A special poker challenge allows participants to compete against local celebrities and win special prizes if they knock them out. Confirmed bounty players include NBC5's Ginger Zee, Sun Times columnist Richard Roeper and former Bears player Chris Zorich.

For the non-card sharks, there will be a Nintendo Wii competition featuring the Mario Kart game.

COSI's One Step At A Time programs offer camp experiences and educational programs that allow children with cancer to just be kids.

The cost is $250 for a player ticket and $50 for a spectator pass.

Visit www.onestepcamp.org or call (312) 924-4220 for more information.
