Don't watch the Academy Awards alone; get out and party with other Oscar lovers at Tapas Valencia.

Don't just sit there on the couch, wrapped in a Snuggie during this year's Oscars, gossiping with your cat about how amazing Angelina looks in that backwards dress, or how vile Renee Zellweger's latest fashion statement  is. Get out of the house to watch the awards amongst other living, breathing humans.  The Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation's Associate Board is hosting their annual Oscar viewing party Sunday, Feb. 22 at Tapas Valencia in the South Loop. The “Dark Night”-themed party will have plenty of televisions on hand to catch all of the Oscar fanfare and fashions. There will be a silent auction to benefit JDRF, specialty drinks, a variety of passed hot and cold tapas and prizes for best dressed guests. Enjoy red carpet treatment as you arrive at this party sponsored by Mercedes Benz, DiVine Vodka and Stella Artois.  The festivities begin at 5:30 p.m.; $50 per person in advance and $55 at the door. To purchase tickets, call Tapas Valencia at 312-842-4444 or visit www.chicagomag.com/awards.
