Get “In The Know”

Learn how to maximize your summer plans at the Affinia Chicago

Want to get the most out of this multi-faceted city we live in? Learn the ins and outs like an insider at the "In the Know" lecture series sponsored by the Affinia Chicago hotel, the Chicago Office of Tourism and Navy Pier. The first event, "A Guide to Chicago Summer," a timely topic if ever there was one, is set for Wednesday, July 29.

The session will be led by Chicago Office of Tourism director Dorothy Coyle and Navy Pier's tourism marketing manager Katie McCarthy. The pair will share their expertise on not missing a thing that the city has to offer this summer -- from outdoor recreation ideas to shopping and dining suggestions to numerous neighborhood events. The lecture will uncover the many hidden gems Chicago features and budget-friendly ways to experience it all.

The event kicks off at 5:30PM in the Affinia Chicago's second-floor Superior Room. Hors d'oeuvres and cocktails will be provided by the on-site C-House restaurant during a casual mixer. At 6PM, Coyle and McCarthy will take the stage to educate the group on getting the most out of the Chicago summer, and all guests will be able to win an array of prizes, including an overnight stay at the Affinia Chicago, gift certificates to C-House and C-View, free passes for Chicago neighborhood tours and tickets to the Cirque Shanghai "Bright Spirit" show at Navy Pier.

Tickets to the Affinia Chicago's "A Guide to Chicago Summer" lecture are $20 per person, with a portion of the proceeds benefitting the Children's Memorial Hospital. RSVP at intheknowchicago@affinia.com.
