Local Student Seeks World Beer Pong Crown

Andy DeCaluwe to compete in World Series of Beer Pong in Las Vegas

Who says playing drinking games in college is counter-productive?

Mount Prospect's Andy DeCaluwe has managed to turn his proficiency at beer pong into a lucrative gig.

According to the RedEye, the 25-year-old Kendall College student will be competing at the 7th annual World Series of Beer Pong next week at the Flamingo Las Vegas hotel and casino.

But before you snicker, consider that the top prize at the tournament is a cool $50,000.

DeCaluwe and his partner are ranked No. 1 in the world and placed third at the event last year.

More than 500 teams will compete for the crown this year.
