Word on the Street: Halloween Edition

Some Halloween revelers stop to pose for a picture on Rush Street last year.

Halloween will take over the streets this week. Who says it's just for kids? There's no shortage of places for some adult fun this week.

  • There's only a few days left to check out the Haunted Sanitarium at Theater on the Lake at Fullerton Ave. and Lakeshore Drive. There's 15 themed rooms, including an Egyptian tomb, a graveyard and a something called a demented clown's lab. Or can your eat in the creepy cafe or check out a scary movie. The fun ends next Saturday.
  • Trails of Terror looks like a good scary time if you'd like to check out the dark side of a deserted town. It's located in Peterson Park -- a half mile of wooded trials filled with creepy characters.
  • If you've been to one of Jerry Kleiner's parties before, then you know you won't be disappointed with his Halloween bash at South Loop's Room 21 on Thursday night. The place will be packed with flappers, swing dancers and lessons, live music and more. Go ahead and celebrate Halloween in the spot that Al Capone used to hang out.
  • Promotions juggernaut Surreal Chicago is offering a bevy of events Halloween week, from the infamous Lingerie Ball at Stone Lotus, to a Halloween night package that includes a haunted Hotel at the W on Adams and ends with a boat ride until 7 a.m. Take your vitamins before you hit this one!

Of course there's much more spookiness going on this week. Click here to see more Halloween events.
