A TALE OF TWO PREVIEWS: Two very different theater productions are opening tonight: For the musicals fan, there's "Grease," starring "American Idol" alum Taylor Hicks as Teen Angel, opening at the Auditorium Theatre (8PM, $26-$85). For the Shakespeare conoisseur, there's a staging of "Macbeth," debuting at the Chicago Shakespeare Theater on Navy Pier (7:30PM, $44-$70).

SILVER SCREEN: If movies are more your thing, check out the student-run Doc Films series at the University of Chicago, regarded as the longest-running club of its kind. Tonight's feature is the classic "To Kill a Mockingbird." At Ida Noyes Hall, 7PM, $5.

WRITE STUFF: Local novelist Zach Dodson will read from his latest work, "The 2043 Field Guide to Living Indoors," at the Parlor Reading Series at the Green Lantern Gallery. 7PM, free.
