A GENTLER TIME: Sick of Facebook and text messages? Explore a simpler, perhaps more romantic era at "Love's Messenger: Victorian Valentines," a talk led by author and exhibit curator Debra N. Mancoff at the Newberry Library. Mancoff will also be signing copies of her books "Monet: Nature Into Art" and "Impressionism: Reflections of Beauty." 5:30PM, $9.

YOUR AMERICAN LIFE: Join National Public Radio's Ira Glass, Peter Sagal and Scott Simon for the storytelling event "Audible Feast" at the Art Institute tonight. You can either take part in a seated dinner (6PM, $500) or a wine-and-cheese reception (6:30PM, $75) before the program, which begins at 8PM. Everyone is invited to a dessert program afterwards.

ICE, ICE BABY: Take the kiddies to see "Disney on Ice: Worlds of Fantasy" at the United Center tonight. You know they'll love this ice escapade, featuring renditions of Disney classics like "Cars," "The Lion King" and "The Little Mermaid." Who knows, you might even enjoy it, too. 7PM, $15-$75.
