TAKE THE PLUNGE: The ninth annual Chicago Polar Plunge goes down on North Avenue beach this morning. The benefit for Special Olympics programs includes prizes, a gift bag and admission to a post-party in a heated tent. What's that they say about March coming in like a lion? 9:30AM, $100 minimum pledge to participate, free for spectators.

DOWNWARD DOG, INDEED: Bring your (vaccinated) pooch to "Doga," where you'll learn stretching, massage, meditation and acupressure techniques that you can do with your doggie. At dog training, grooming and boarding facility Unleashed in Old Town, 12-1:30PM, $20 includes yoga mat rental.

THE JOY OF SAX: See sexy sax man Joshua Redman heat up the Old Town School of Folk Music in Lincoln Square in two shows tonight. Redman is touring in support of his new album, "Compass." 6PM and 8:30PM, $26-$30.
