The "hardest working man in radio" won't be heard in Chicago

Chicago radio listeners who regularly tune in to hear Tom Joyner will be disappointed this morning.

Tom Joyner, also known as "the hardest working man in radio," will no longer be heard on Chicago air waves.

"Today, for the first time in 20 years, neither my voice nor Sybil’s will be broadcast locally on a radio station in the city of Chicago," Joyner wrote on his web site this week.

The Steve Harvey Morning Show will take over Joyner's slot on V-103. But Joyner, who broadcasts from Dallas, isn't mad about it.

I can’t tell you how many people today would argue you down if you tried to tell them I haven’t lived in Chicago for decades. I am and will always be linked to that great city, and I’m not mad at anybody for it. I proudly and boldly give the town that brought us Ebony and Jet, Michael Jordan, Garret’s Popcorn and the best pizza in the world its props.

Although he's off the air in Chi-town, you can still find his voice on the interwebs. Joyner will continue streaming his show on BlackAmericaWeb.com.
