Need something for that empty spot on your mantel?

You could cruise the local galleries, or better yet, score the perfect find on your next vacation. But, what if the world’s art collection could come to you?

From November 7-9, Navy Pier’s Festival Hall will be home to SOFA Chicago. SOFA stands for Sculpture Objects and Functional Art fair. Items from more than 100 galleries around the world will be on display, with dealers selling various pieces of modern art. You can also sit in on a lecture series by noted speakers like Dr. Christopher Lightfoot of the Metropolitan Museum of Art.
Admission price is $15, or buy a three-day pass for $25.

Whether you’re a veteran collector or just getting started, SOFA is a crash-course in modern art.

And who knows? You may just find the perfect piece for that mantel.
