South Side Choir Named Best in Nation

The Acme Missionary Baptist Church on the South Side was named the best choir in the nation in a competition sponsored by Verizon Wireless.

Acme Missionary Baptist Church on the South Side beat out 10 other churches from across the country to be named best choir in the nation, the Chicago Sun-Times reported.
The contest, held in Atlanta over the weekend, was judged by Grammy-winning artists Marvin Sapp and Hezekiah Walker and actress Gabrielle Union. The church will receive $25,000.
