Have you seen the latest viral YouTube sensation, “Jones Big Ass Truck Rental and Storage”? If not, you should definitely check it out. It’s had more than 700,000 views in less than two weeks – all the cool kids are watching it. Toby Jones, a.k.a. Chicago’s South Side comedian Robert Hines will be performing at the Lakeshore Theater, 3175 N. Broadway, for a special New Year’s Eve show at 10 p.m. Dec. 31. Local sketch comedy group Big Dog Eat Child, which partnered with Hines on his viral video, will perform alongside the comedian on NYE.
A bit of trivia on the YouTube video: Hines put his actual cell phone number in the satirical commercial, which has lead to hundreds of calls from all over the world, looking to meet “Toby Jones” and hire the services of Jones Big Ass Truck Rental and Storage. (It’s not a real business, just for the record.)
Hines is a veteran of Comedy Central’s Comic Justice, NBC’s Uptown Comedy Club and BET ’s Comic View. He has also traveled with the Laugh Fest Comedy College Tour and plays the title role in the indie comedy Chasing Robert co-starring Andy Dick, Dan Castellaneta and the late Richard Jeni.
