No, the Green City Market isn't making its move outdoors just yet (that happens in May), but the event is ushering in April with a series of "Bacon & Eggs" themed events starting this Saturday, April 4.

Taking place in the market's winter home, the Peggy Notebaert Nature Museum, Saturday's event will host an abundance of chef cooking demonstrations, an Easter egg hunt and an egg-coloring workshop in addition to the 24 farmers and producers that will be on hand. Chef Michael Cisternino of Tavern at the Park will kick off the day of cooking demos at 9AM by preparing an organic zucchini and mint frittata wrapped with speck ham and topped with a fresh cherry tomato sauce. Following Cisternino's eye-opener will be Hot Chocolate chef Mindy Segal at 10AM and chef Sam Burman of Bluprint at 11AM.

The first-annual Green City Market Easter Egg Hunt will get rolling at 12PM with prizes including special treats from the farmers and producers of the market. There will also be an organic Easter egg-coloring workshop from 10:30AM-12:30PM in the North Gallery of the museum, where you'll learn how to use vegetables instead of scary, fizzing chemicals to color eggs this year.

These events are free, but an RSVP is required by emailing admin@chicagogreencitymarket.org. The Green City Market takes place from 8AM-2PM at the Peggy Notebaert Nature Museum, 2430 N. Cannon Dr., 773-880-1266.
