The Fourth's Fireworks Frenzy

Where to find fireworks all over the state

Lock up your pets and put your eyes to the sky. The Fourth of July is here and fireworks a’plenty will prove it.

It’s true that many suburbs aren’t doing fireworks displays this year, but who needs the suburbs when Navy Pier has the most stunning explosions in the Illinois sky at their annual display? Check them out at 9:30 p.m. on Saturday.

If you think it’s impressive when there’s a homerun at The Cell, just wait until you see what Independence Day in the city has to offer.

And if you don’t feel like dealing with the crowds downtown, take a lake fireworks cruise for a more private experience, or take your pick from the plethora of displays throughout the state.

And we know that fireworks are fun for the whole family, but leave it to the humans in the family. DuPage County Animal Care and Control officials say people should resist the urge to take pets to firework displays. Lest you want your pooch to become a July 4th dog.

Time to have a patriotic celebration, and what better way than with some bright and booming explosives?
