It seems fitting that Chicago Blues legend Koko Taylor's wake and funeral will coincide with the city's annual Blues Fest.

Taylor, who never met with mainstream success, was always a favorite in her hometown and was "revered and beloved by blues aficionados" everywhere, Crain's Chicago Business reported Thursday.

She died June 3, two weeks after having had gastrointestinal surgery.

Musicians in town for this weekend's Chicago Blues Festival in Grant Park, will gather together for a tribute to the "Queen of Blues" Thursday night. Her funeral will be held on Friday.
