Mark McGwire finally comes clean about taking steroids and human growth hormones. The former St. Louis Cardinal admitted to Bob Costas he hid the secret during his 70-homer season in 1998.
McGwire said he didn't take steroids for any advantage but for his health.
The controversial issue brought McGwire to tears apologizing to Major League Baseball and his family. What do you think about McGwire coming clean?
"I'm not sure what to make of all this Mark McGwire doing steroids news. Coming clean now is just to support his employment. He had the chance to tell the truth with congress. He choose not." - Anonymous
"I'm not surprised at all- knew it all along. His record must be removed so those that earned it continue to receive their recognition." - Anonymous
"The federal government relentlessly pursued Marion Jones until she finally admitted to steroid use, and they put her in jail. Would that ever happen to a man in a major sport like baseball?" - James Iverson
"The man did have a gift for home-runs. His first at bat in Little League was a HR. In '87, before steroids, he hit 49 home-runs. People should listen to the entire interview before making judgments." - Anonymous
"We are taught [by] a higher power to forgive and forget so I think we should let the team and MLB (as well as the courts) take care of this situation! We are only human after all!" - Jax
