    The Make a Wish Foundation fulfills the dreams of children with life-altering illnesses.

    The Make-A-Wish Foundation of Illinois is celebrating the life-changing impact of a wish in the Windy City.  The theme of this year’s annual ball is “The City of Big Wishes” and highlights the spirit of Chicago, a city where anything is possible. 

    Mike Ditkais the ball’s honorary chair, and the event will also feature sketch comedy performances by The Second Cityand music by the Bluz BrothersBand. 

    Six Illinois children will be honored as “Wish Ambassadors” for the evening.  The kids, who have all been granted a wish by the Foundation in the past year, will don formal wear and mingle with guests, sharing their incredible stories.  The 1,000 guests will also enjoy cocktails, dinner, dancing, a raffle, plus live and silent auctions.

    The Wish Ball helps raise money to help make wishes come true for local children with life-threatening medical conditions.  Last year, the Wish Ball raised more than $1 million for the Foundation and helped grant 200 wishes to Illinois kids. The event is Saturday May 2, at 6 p.m. in the great Hall in Union Station.
