Children between six to 12 years old who love building cool LEGO creations are encouraged to submit a 90-second video demonstrating why they should be selected as the MINIMASTER Model Builder. To enter the contest, children must have permission from their parent or guardian to upload the video at www.facebook.com/LDCChicago.
For those who do not have a camera at home, you can also visit LEGOLAND Discovery Center Chicago during it's Master Model Builder Video Workshops to enter the contest. Children can use the center's equipment, have their video shot, and immediately enter the contest. These workshops will take place on March 15, March 22, March 29, April 5, April 12, and April 19 at LEGOLAND Discovery Center Chicago. You must still pay full price admission, and RSVP in order to participate in the workshop. To RSVP, e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org.
All videos will be posted on LEGOLAND Discovery Center Chicago's Facebook page where users can vote for their favorites. The top five videos that receive the most votes will be reviewed by a panel of judges.
The winner will receive eight 30-minute sessions with a Master Model Builder and a Master LEGO Model Builder session for his or her entire class. The center’s very own Master Model Builder will take the winner “behind the scenes” and show them building secrets including: the techniques that were used in building MINILAND, how a Master Model Builder uses LEGO Digital Designer, how he creates new models for the Model Builder Workshop and how to take a picture and make a LEGO mural.
