Chicago's Connection to The Today Show

Zoraida Sambolin gets behind the scenes with the anchors of The Today show as they each tell about their personal connection to Chicago.

You see Matt, Meredith, Al, Ann and Natalie every day on The Today Show, but they all have a special connection to Chicago.

NBC 5's Zoraida Sambolin went behind the scenes to talk with each of the morning show's personalities to see what the windy city means to them.

Meredith Vieira worked in Chicago and two of her children attended Northwestern University.

Ann Curry worked in Chicago and lived off of Lake Shore Drive.

Al Roker enjoys the people, architecture and the food.

Natalie Morales is planning to run a half marathon this summer and is trying to get Meredith and Al to run it with her.

Matt owes his time in Chicago to former Today Show co-host Bryant Gumbel, who grew up in the Chicago area. While working together, the two would come to the Windy City to play golf.

They have no regrets, except for Ann. She says she didn't get to meet Oprah during her time here.
