Anthony Ponce joined NBC5 News in 2007. He anchors the weekend morning newscasts and reports for the weekday morning and noon newscasts. You can follow him on twitter here and ‘like’ his Facebook page here -- he loves interacting with Chicagoans during shows!
Before coming to NBC5, Anthony worked as a reporter at WISH-TV in Indianapolis and WANE-TV in Fort Wayne, IN. He grew up in the Chicago area and considers being a journalist in his hometown a dream come true.
Anthony attended Indiana University in Bloomington, where he majored in English and Spanish. In 2003, he received a master's degree in journalism from the Medill School of Journalism at Northwestern University.
Outside of work, Anthony loves to play the piano (check out one of his performances here), get to the gym as much as possible, and cheer on his beloved White Sox and Indiana Hoosiers.
If Anthony's last name sounds familiar to you Chicagoans, it may be because his dad, Phil, is the host of "Chicago Tonight" on WTTW 11 and his older brother, Dan, is an anchor for WGN.
