Wild Turkey Crashes Into Family's Home

Mom wisks daughter, Chihuahua to safety

A Wisconsin mother may have wished her family's unexpected visitor had brought a bottle bearing its name to help settle her nerves.

Heidi Herrera and her daughter were watching television Thursday when a wild turkey crashed through and window charged into their eastern Wisconsin home.

After she got her 5-year-old and their pet Chihuahua to safety in another bedroom, the mother stepped out into the house and came face to face with the turkey in the kitchen.

As Herrera walked towards the bird, it ran out the open front door and down the Mishicot block.

Herrera said there wasn't much damage inside the house, other than the double-paned window the bird broke to enter the house. The window was roughly 3 feet off the ground.
