Snake Thief Stuffed Baby Boas in His Pants: Cops

Albino snakes were valued at up to $800 apiece

An Arizona man stole baby albino boa constrictors from a pet shop by stuffing the slithering critters in his shorts, police said.

Eric Fiegel, 22, was arrested in Mesa after police saw him on surveillance footage removing several of the albino snakes, valued at up to $1,000 each, from a tank at Predator's Reptile Center and stuffing them in his pockets, police said. The 22-year-old suspect later took the snakes to another pet shop and traded several for $175 and a reptile tank.

The thefts occurred on July 30, but Fiegel was busted yesterday. Witnesses gave police a license plate number and witnesses later picked him out of a lineup, according to the Arizona Republic.
