Scalpers Hawk Tickets to School Graduation Ceremony

Tickets to event are going for around $200 apiece

Procrastinating students at one business school are getting a tough lesson in supply and demand.

Some Indiana University Kelley School of Business students might have to buy tickets to their own graduation Friday.

University officials allowed graduating students to pick up three tickets apiece during the week of April 23rd and distributed those remaining April 30th.

The Indianapolis Star reported Wednesday some students didn't pick up tickets on time and find them being sold on eBay, Craigslist and elsewhere.

Shannon Beatty of Fishers is upset the school didn't hold back tickets for those unable to pick them up for free on time. She says other students are offering to sell her tickets for $200 apiece.

School Dean Daniel Smith has asked students with extra tickets to return them rather than sell them.
