A Postal Service-bound truck, hauling nearly 39,000 pounds of mail caught fire in Georgia Saturday night.
The driver, Jimmy Lewis Dobson, pulled over and detached the tractor from his rig when he noticed flames leaping out from the rear wheels of his truck.
Firefighters responded, but it was too late. All 38,616 pounds of mail had been incinerated.
The bright side: None of the mail was first-class, Postmaster Richard Ferrell told the Florida Times-Union. It was entirely advertising (or junk) mail.
