Chimney Foils Man's Attempt to Enter Home

A man who fire officials said was trying to enter his ex-girlfriend’s house through the chimney found rejection before he ever touched ground.

Emergency personnel were on scene for more than two hours trying to free a man who became stuck as he tried to force his way down a Lake Forest home early Monday, according to Orange County Fire Authority Capt. Steve Concialdi.

Teams disassembled the chimney piece-by-piece, eventually hooking the man to a harness and lifting him up.

The man appeared to be disoriented as he was pulled out. He was taken to a hospital to be checked for injuries.

No criminal charges were filed against the man, according to the Orange County Sheriff's Department. Authorities could not confirm the relationship between the man and the residents of the house.
