Somebody call Linus and Charlie Brown.

Canadian farmer Jake van Kooten brought a great pumpkin of his own to America to win nearly $10,000 in a California contest.

    Van Kooten's 1,536.5-pound gourd collected him $9,219 -- $6 a pound.

A spokesman for the festival, Steve Capps, said Van Kooten's entry set a new California record by one pound. The old record of 1,535.5 pounds was set last year.
