Woman sues former classmate for playground antics
Was it a childhood grudge or just a bit of roughhousing that led to the injuries at a South Side Catholic school reunion?
Most everyone knows that roughhousing on the playground is a no-no, but a recent attendee at a grade school reunion lost sight of that fact, and now she's being sued.
The woman's former classmate claims she continues to suffer from an attack that was more than just horseplay at the "All Years Christ the King School Reunion," the Southtown Star reports.
Margaret Guldan claims the jolting assault happened on the school's playground during the reunion, when another attendee, Anne Bansley, allegedly came up from behind and "grabbed her by the collar of her blouse."
The lawsuit alleges that Bansley pulled on Guldan's shirt, "causing her to lose her balance, fall backwards and strike the playground surface."
Gulden says the attack left her with "severe, painful, permanent, disabling and disfiguring injuries" to her left, upper body.
If the lawsuit stands, Bansley could be out more than $50,000 for the childish prank.
Billy Joel may have been talking about Anne Bansley when he wrote, "Catholic girls start much too late." Too late for Guldan, anyway.
Leave the rowdiness to the youngsters next time.
